ME IN THE NEWS
So I've been sick for the last few weeks but I'm good now. How about I'm reading the DFW Quick this morning - low & behold there is a WRITE-UP ON ME. Thanks to Delano Washington for giving me a plug in regards to my voting in this years' Grammy Awards (which because of my illness I had to miss but going to the other events surrounding it has been fun) and he plugged my up-coming album, N.O.W. (No Otha Will). Its a small article but it's a start to really promoting myself and my project. Lets see what's next for ya Boy.

N.O.W. - THE ALBUM IS DONE
Yes, after all my talking and planning and updates - ITS DONE. All tracks are recorded, mixed & mastered. I did all of the lead and background vocals with the exception of having Big XL, Madame Ice & my cousin Roshada Taylor doing some backgrounds on a couple of songs. I wrote all of the tracks , produced half of them and helped mix all of them. I'm really proud of the work that me and Dano (co-producer/engineer) put into this album. Staying Busy...

Look at me staying on top of this blog thang for a change. Man I'm tired but loving having too many things going on at one time.
I've been invited to help coordinate the 2009 "I Got Soul" Conference & the 6th Annual DeSoto Hip Hop Summit - I'm bringing my Grammy affiliation to help boost the education & public presence of both events.
Looks like my travel plans are filling up - Feb (Grammy Awards & Twista's Official After Party (Los Angeles,Ca), Grammy Chapter Office (Austin,TX)), March (19th Annual Urban Network Music-Entertainment & Marketing Summit (Industry Hills,CA)), April (Grammy U Summit (Austin, TX), May (One Stop Shop - Producers Conference (Phoenix,AZ)) & July (Katt Williams Celebrity Basketball Game (USC - Los Angeles,CA)). I'm expecting a few more events to pop up in between these dates - WHY IS CALIFORNIA LIKE MY TOP TRAVEL PLACE RIGHT NOW. Big ups to Hunnid Racks for putting me on to these events - that's what a great sponsor is supposed to do folks.
Just keeping ya'll up-to-date on things.................wait MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT NEXT.

2009.........N.O.W.
I was going to start off at the beginning of the year listing New Years esolutions, talkign about 2008 and all that other "its a new year" mess but... Why. 2009 is finally here and its been going great thus far. I'm just focused on execution becasue the dreams & plans have been in place for years. I've ran off the slackers, hushed the haters and enforced my "real" friendships which has freed me mentally, emotionally and financially.
The album that had been so many years in the making is done. Writing, producing, recording, mixing and mastering is complete. I took a hard look into my past projects and came up with tracks that truly represented me and that could cater to my target audience as well as existing fans. I was able to write, sing, rap, produce, mix and oversee everything, all the vocals are me (even the backgrounds except the track with my lil cousin & the one with XL), I choose or made the beats - I have no complaints. There is so much diversity on the album and even live instrumentation. "N.O.W." (No Otha Will) will be officially dropping March 9, 2009 (03.09.09) which is my 30th birthday (yes I'm that old but luckily I dont look it, lol.)
Ive applied for a position as a Governor for the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy (Grammys)- I'll be in LA in Feb to attend the awards (on the VIP list for Twista's after party). Cali is showing me alot of love including an energy drink company based out of Oakland named Hunnid Racks that is now an official sponsor for my label (What's up Nette). Back at home I've been asked to come in as a coordinator to several Grammy events, The "I Got Soul" conference, the DeSoto Hip-Hop Summit and other events with Metro Muzik the Union (what's up Kuwn).
Now that the album is done and were about to start the promotions for it - I will be out in the streets, clubs, tv, radio stations, online (especially this blog) - basically showing the world who I am and what I do. The people need to see an artist/executive who is doing everything the right & professional way yet still making some great music.
Stay tuned for updates.

Austin TX - Recording Academy TX Chapter Open House
So I was in the state capitol last night for the Recording Academy's open house. It was a great mixer where I had the chance to meet & take a picture with the legendary Pinetop Perkins, T-Byrd Gordon, entertainment attorney Catherine Tabor, Exec Director of the Texas Chapter - Theresa Jenkins, Chapter President - Carlos Sosa, Christee Albino (Chapter Assistant), 2-U-Neek from Los Angeles, Mark Somgynari (thanks for the info on sponsorships), DJ Solo and others.
The Exec Director gave me the ok to spearhead bringing the Academy programs and events such as GrammyU & Grammy In The Schools into the Dallas area. I will be working with her to set-up programs to educate artists and to provide better networking opportunites. A 2 1/2 hour drive and I came back with a potential new place to record, opp to produce for a group working with Disney, opp to be a pioneer in music business education, event planner and loads of other opps.
There are so many more things on the horizon for myself and my music endeavors so stay tuned. Pics will be available soon. Holla.
